I have been contacted by all of the same people listed in these reports plus some new names Like James Delano. Some say they are Officers ( Officer Ricky Jones ) some say attorneys. They have threaten to have me and my husband arrested so i contacted my local police department and was told these people were full of pooh. I also have contacted my brother who works with the FOP in the next town and they have had alot of similiar reports. I gave them all the numbers they have called me from and they are working on getting these people. It seems they dont know its illeagal to impersonate an officer...What got me was they always call from different numbers and it has even came up on my phone as 911 Emergency!!! They had all of our information, SS numbers bank accounts numbers address EVERYTHING! We closed our accounts and have reopened new accounts just to be safe and we talked to the bank so that they are aware of the scam and we also told them about this site and the information we found on here. We have NEVER done any kind of pay day advance or loan so we knew we were right but some people are not so lucky and have fallen victim to this. I hope they are caught and go to jail themselves. Very scary that they had all that info about us. Good luck everyone and please dont fall for this scam. When I called them out on it they cursed me up one side and down the other but best believe they got an earfull inreturn...lol and that felt good.
It has become clear from numerous reports of this scam, that the scammers have come into posession of a large amount of personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, references, bank acct. numbers and social security numbers. Most of those reporting the scam indicate that at some time in the past, they filled out an online loan application. My guess is that these scammers have obtained (most likely illegally) a large database of this personal info.
I was told I was approved for a $6000 loan. I had to go buy $147 in iTunes gift cards. I had to give them the number of the back of the cards. Which they redeemed after I gave the cards. Then they wanted me to send them $387 to finish my part saying that this will prove that I could pay the loan back, this was my verification process. Cash Advance USA, Dallas Texas ripped me off for $150. Something needs to be done to these con artists.

USA CASH ADVANCE SCAM: Foreign accented man called to confirm a loan but needed me to obtain a new government law requiring a verification voucher! When I had money and was at CVS, 11/7, Walmart or other locations.....I was to call him and then he would tell me the person to whom I would make the voucher out to for a total of 260 dollars (down from 400). The loan would then be deposited into my account as soon as the voucher business was done. He informed that I had to process the voucher verification within the next 10 minutes and then my funds would then be in my account in 15 minutes (in thousands by the way). The voucher was to prove I could make monthly payments...REALLY? The amount of the loan was ridiculous- "too good to be true" type. So I said I could not do anything until tomorrow. Again he emphasized calling once I was in the store and would give me no information except that his name was James. (BTW: a young man answered the phone, James was giving the 888 number to another in the background and then took the phone to speak with me??!!)

I had received automated calls from this company 3-4 days in a row. I wanted to consolidate my credit cards. I decided to call back but every time I called, I would get a recording that the person I was trying to reach was not able to receive calls and to try later. Right then and there I thought... hmmm, this has got to be a scam. The following week, I received another call, I too, spoke with a woman with a very thick accent not to mention there was so much noise in the background, it was even more harder to hear her. Nevertheless, we began the loan process, until we got to the point she requested my username & password for my checking account. Do I really look like boo boo the clown. What legitimate company will ask for that info. When I asked her why she needed that info, she replied, they need to access the account to make sure it's my account. I told her she is a liar, accessing my account does not prove that it's my account.

Today I had the same thing happen to me. I got a message that I need to call this number and it was very time sensitive. I call the number and the first thing the guy says in an arabic accent "Is do you have an attorney?' My response is for what. He tells me I will be arrested tomorrow at work because I have an arrest warrant for not paying back 4 payday loans. I live in Texas and he said I will be taken to California to be sued. He then tells me if I can send $1978.26 in a hour that it will be settled out of court and all charges will be dropped. He then wanted me to stay on the phone with him and go buy prepaid VISA cards to make the payment, no other means of payment was acceptable. I convinced him that I need to get off the phone and go to the store because I was on a land line. I checked all the phone numbers provided by this person and all come back no name attached to the number. At this point I realize this is a scam. I don't call him back so he calls my work and starts yelling at me for not calling him back. I told him is get a hold of my attorney, he says "Your a bloody beggar how can you afford to pay for an attorney and not the fees." My buddy who was listening to this call then asks how he had an American name but had such a strong arabic accent. That was the end of that call he immediately hung up. I am still receiving calls from numbers I don't but won't answer them.
Cash Advance USA I WAS CONTACTED BY A FAKE SHERRIFF DEPUTY, WHO CALLED FROM A 911 #. NATURALLY I REALLY THOUGHT HE WAS THE LAW. I WAS REALLY SCARED. I ASKED HIM WHAT I DID AND HE SAID I RECIEVED A PAY DAY LOAN FOR 300.00 . HE SAID IF I WANTED TO RESOLVE THE MATTER I HAD TWO OPTIONS. OPTION #1 PAY596.00 OR OPTION#2PAY 985.00. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I NEVER RECIEVED A LOAN FROM CASH ADVANCE USA.HE SAID THAT HE WOULD ISSUE A WARRANT FOR MY ARREST TODAY. I DID SOME RESEARH AND TRIED TO LOOK UP CASH ADVANCE USA AND TO MY SURPRISE I FOUND OUT IT WAS ALL A SCAM. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE PROSECUTED. THEY SHOULD NOT BE CALLING PEOPLES RESIDENCES AND PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT HARRASSING THEM. THE SCARY PART IS THEY HAD ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. I HAVE LEARNED A VERY IMPORTANT LESSON ! They will be from India, Nigeria, etc., using AMERICAN names and we all know they don't have American names. Part of the time, there is that accent, you will NEVER be able to understand. We have NEVER had a LOAN with this place and have even called them, they did research and told us NO, but it just seem to stop these scammers. Just tell your job if they call your job that you no longer work there. NEVER talk to this trash, ok?
