<>Many people have trouble paying back their cash advance loans, and rollover is common. In fact, 80 percent of cash advances are rolled over or followed by another loan within 14 days of the first.3 And far too often it doesn’t end there. The loan becomes due and borrowers still can’t pay back the lump sum they owe, so what do they do? They roll it over once more and the cycle starts again.
<>Several consumers also reported receiving phone calls from entities attempting to collect debts owed to Cash Advance, Cash Advance Group, and US Cash Advance. Some of the collection calls came from people who called themselves Brian Wilson, John Murphy, Jim Spencer, and Andrew Martin. Some calls also came from a person claiming to work for Peterson Law Group and Debt Collection USA.
<> I have been contacted by all of the same people listed in these reports plus some new names Like James Delano. Some say they are Officers ( Officer Ricky Jones ) some say attorneys. They have threaten to have me and my husband arrested so i contacted my local police department and was told these people were full of pooh. I also have contacted my brother who works with the FOP in the next town and they have had alot of similiar reports. I gave them all the numbers they have called me from and they are working on getting these people. It seems they dont know its illeagal to impersonate an officer...What got me was they always call from different numbers and it has even came up on my phone as 911 Emergency!!! They had all of our information, SS numbers bank accounts numbers address EVERYTHING! We closed our accounts and have reopened new accounts just to be safe and we talked to the bank so that they are aware of the scam and we also told them about this site and the information we found on here. We have NEVER done any kind of pay day advance or loan so we knew we were right but some people are not so lucky and have fallen victim to this. I hope they are caught and go to jail themselves. Very scary that they had all that info about us. Good luck everyone and please dont fall for this scam. When I called them out on it they cursed me up one side and down the other but best believe they got an earfull inreturn...lol and that felt good.
<>If you feel you have been the victim of a loan scam please contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-FTC-HELP (382-4357) or online at www.ftc.gov; or contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (855) 411-CFPB (2372) or online at www.consumerfinance.gov. <>To avoid overspending on recurring bills, conscious consumers know to regularly review rates on everything from loan interest to insurance policies. Keeping an eye on these expenses and making a change when lower rates are available ensures that you keep more of your hard-earned money to use toward savings goals or to pay down debts. What's more, it's important to evaluate whether services, policies and other expenses are actually needed and not being paid simply out of habit. Since most bills are automated, it's easy to set and forget your expenses to the detriment of your budget and overall savings goals.
<>I kept getting text messages, no legit phone calls, just texts. Now today they're threatening to take me to court, tell my employer etc for a $300 loan. Told them they can tell whoever, garnish my wages (I'm retired) etc., This was in an email they sent today 9/13/17. Now my loan is close to $1K due to interest etc. I just laughed. I don't take LOANS out for $300. I either write a check or use credit card. They want me to settle today for the $300. I'll never settle. Told them I'll have my lawyers ready also. I dont know who Cash Advance USA is anyway, let alone loan from them. Then I googled all this - it's a SCAM!! Must be bunch of out of work "lawyers" that are trying to scam people & scare them. I told them to bring it on, I'm ready! Ridiculous - get a real job!
<>To get a credit card cash advance you go to an ATM or bank location and use your credit card to withdraw money. The amount you withdraw is added to your credit card bill almost as if you were using your card to make a purchase. But unlike using a debit card, the money that you get through a credit card cash advance doesn’t come from your bank account. It’s loaned to you by your credit card company, and you’re responsible for paying it back.
<>I just received the same exact call on my job. He said there are some charges being filed against me. I asked for what. He said he is going to read the affidavit and told me not to interrupt him. He had an accent too. He said that I took out a payday loan with Cash Advance USA last year using my US Bank account and that I wrote them bad checks and have closed my account. First of all my US Bank account is just 1 month old...I asked for his name and told him I was going to report him. He said he is going to have the state of California police and my police to come to my job and pick me up in 24 hours then he hung up in my face.  And I know for a fact I haven't taken out a payday loan. That is just crazy that people are trying to scam others.
