I checked with greendot and verified the information. I called back and talked with thomas'  supervisor Adam and explained what happened. Adam would not give me the number to Cash Advance Usa, he told me to go online to www.cashadvanceusa.com. I came up with a blank page. I did a google search and found under the search.........this scam. I called Adam back and told him that I knew it was a scam he was involved in and that if I received further calls about this matter I would be forced to contact the authorities.
I just received the same calls.  They threatened to throw me in jail, etc.  I told them I suspected fraud and was going to contact the authorites, the man, who said his name was both David Fisher and Anthony White (with a thick middle eastern accent), became irate and yelled and cursed and gave all kinds of threats.  I contacted the FBI, which suggested I submit a report to the internet crime department.
I do not owe these people. They go to class reunion.com or life.com, get your information and they act like you have a had a loan. I have not had a loan in 20 years, they can keep it up and I will sue for harassment. I am tired of these people trying to scam me. There is definitely something needs to be done about them. I had one removed from my credit report. They need to quit prying on people. Something needs to be done.
I have been contacted by all of the same people listed in these reports plus some new names Like James Delano. Some say they are Officers ( Officer Ricky Jones ) some say attorneys. They have threaten to have me and my husband arrested so i contacted my local police department and was told these people were full of pooh. I also have contacted my brother who works with the FOP in the next town and they have had alot of similiar reports. I gave them all the numbers they have called me from and they are working on getting these people. It seems they dont know its illeagal to impersonate an officer...What got me was they always call from different numbers and it has even came up on my phone as 911 Emergency!!! They had all of our information, SS numbers bank accounts numbers address EVERYTHING! We closed our accounts and have reopened new accounts just to be safe and we talked to the bank so that they are aware of the scam and we also told them about this site and the information we found on here. We have NEVER done any kind of pay day advance or loan so we knew we were right but some people are not so lucky and have fallen victim to this. I hope they are caught and go to jail themselves. Very scary that they had all that info about us. Good luck everyone and please dont fall for this scam. When I called them out on it they cursed me up one side and down the other but best believe they got an earfull inreturn...lol and that felt good.

Got a call today, 312-248-2234, and answered to hear that I was preapproved for a thousand dollars loan, and just call them back at same phone number. I called back, they answered Cash Advance. I asked "Do you have a web site?" I like to see how professional or cheesy a site is, as a place to start, in looking at a company. If their site is not professional, then neither are they! I even look for typos. Well, the guy just hung up on me. So I started researching (yes, I can use a grand or two this month), and found all of these reviews.

Availability: Residents of some states may not be eligible for a short term cash loan based upon lender requirements. Our company does not guarantee that completing an inquiry form will result in you being connected with a service provider or lender, being offered a loan product with satisfactory rates or terms, nor receiving a loan from a service provider or lender.
Some reasons you might take a cash advance loan include the need to make emergency repairs to a car or home, cover unplanned medical expenses or pay for assistance with short-term needs that can't wait. Parents might seek cash advances to help cover back-to-school expenses when paychecks don't quite meet needs. Ultimately, though, once a cash advance is funded, the cash is yours to spend or save as you please. LendUp works to provide cash advance loan services that are simple to understand.
Same as others. Email sent saying was approved for amount, how many months, and payment. When contacted the person from overseas and very rude. Would not send to an account. Only Western Union and wanted 200.00. When ask only way payments could be made was Western Union. Someone needs to do something with these people... Justin ** is name. Used phone number 850-615-1079. Shows in Panama City, FL. Hope this is useful in stopping these people.
Someone called my job and told them that there was a legal matter that could result in me losing my job. When I called them, I was told that I had an outstanding payday loan of $300 plus 2000 in legal fees. In order to prevent legal action, I would have to get a green dot pre-paid card and fax them an apology letter and promise to pay. I actually got scared and tried to make a payment but got suspicious when they couldnt give me an account number or reference number. When I began to question them, they got very nasty and told me that they would send me a subpena and send it to my job to try to scare me into paying. I was able to make sure that they didnt get any payment. BEWARE OF CASH ADVANCE USA

This place is a scam. Went to go and get a loan and I asked for the supervisor and it was the same guy. Don't ever fall for foreigners at all. What a joke. I am calling the police down in GA and TX and contacting the Attorney General. They tried taking money out of an account that is my mother's and said it was an error but when I confronted them they called me names and I didn't know what was going on. So I closed all the accounts. Joke is on them.
I received an email from someone saying I owe $300 but it has been moved up to $885 and they will be taking me to court and freezing my accounts, garnishing my wages. So I ask them to send the account number and when this was done no response. I have even ask for their phone number. All they keep saying is this is the final notice and how am I willing to settle. OKAY so I can't have your number. First of all why are we WRITING back and forth through emails.
Consumer Notice: Cash advances are short-term loans, and can typically range from $100 to $999. They are intended for short-term financial relief and do not constitute long-term financial solutions. For example, they can generally be intended to be repaid within a year. Consumers facing debt and credit difficulties should seek out debt and credit advisory help. Federal and state laws cover certain types of lenders and loans, including short-term loans. If a lender is wholly owned and operated by a federally recognized American Indian Tribe and sovereign government, applicable Tribal and Federal law governs its loans and related contracts, requests and documents. Consumers are encouraged to research laws that may be applicable to short-term loans, and to ask their lenders for more information.
The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) has received complaints from Washington consumers of what appear to be loan collection scams. Numerous consumers reported they were contacted by entities claiming to collect debts owed to companies with “Cash Advance” in their names. The collection attempts often involve threats of lawsuits, asset seizure, and arrest. The consumers targeted did not actually owe the debt being collected. At least some of the consumers were targeted after they applied for loans from unlicensed online lenders.
USA CASH ADVANCE SCAM: Foreign accented man called to confirm a loan but needed me to obtain a new government law requiring a verification voucher! When I had money and was at CVS, 11/7, Walmart or other locations.....I was to call him and then he would tell me the person to whom I would make the voucher out to for a total of 260 dollars (down from 400). The loan would then be deposited into my account as soon as the voucher business was done. He informed that I had to process the voucher verification within the next 10 minutes and then my funds would then be in my account in 15 minutes (in thousands by the way). The voucher was to prove I could make monthly payments...REALLY? The amount of the loan was ridiculous- "too good to be true" type. So I said I could not do anything until tomorrow. Again he emphasized calling once I was in the store and would give me no information except that his name was James. (BTW: a young man answered the phone, James was giving the 888 number to another in the background and then took the phone to speak with me??!!)
A Lady named Karen, from Utica, NY, in the North, said we owed a PAYDAY Loan Co. and we don't and haven't for a long, long time.  Watch out for her.  She has all kind of threats.  Call US Cash Advance-916-458-5665 and they will tell you, you don't owe them a dime and they have been dealing with scammers for over a year.  Buy a whistle if they have your number, which they don't.  We had it changed.  Don't let her and anyone else from these d**n places scare you.
NOTICE: This disclosure is being provided to you pursuant to our terms of service with Google®, Inc. It is not required by any federal, state or local law. Our lenders may offer you a loan with an APR between 20% and 300%. The APR on a small dollar, short term loan represents the amount of your loan, cost of the loan, term of the loan and repayment amounts and timing. Loans on the lower end of the APR range may be for a larger loan amount and for a longer term. Loans on the higher end of the APR range may be for a smaller loan amount and for a shorter term. Depending on your credit needs and desire to pay your loan off quickly, your lender may only offer you loans with an APR near the high end of the range noted above. This is an expensive form of credit. A short term loan should be used for short term financial needs only, not as a long term financial solution. Customers with credit difficulties should seek credit counseling or meet with a nonprofit financial counseling service in their community. You are encouraged to consult your state’s consumer information pages to learn more about the risks involved with cash advances. State laws and regulations may be applicable to your payday loan. If you do not pay your loan according to its terms, your lender may: charge you late fees, send your account to a collection agency, report your information to a consumer reporting agency which may negatively affect your credit score, offer to renew, extend or refinance your loan, which may cause you to incur additional fees, charges and interest. We are not a lender. Only your lender can provide you with information about your specific loan terms and APR and the implications for non-payment of your loan. Ask your lender for their current rates and charges and their policies for non-payment.
I just got the same report from a officer richard jones on my voice mail 4/26/2012. I called him back and told him I checked my account before I called him back and I told him he was just trying to get money out of me and that I would get a law suit against him and his company for harrasment and not to call me anymore. He said he would not call and he hope I would not get arrested. I looked them up and found this sight. Thank God For this information. I wish we could get these people arrested.

Once you determine that cash advances are allowed, you’ll need to request one. Some companies have a formal process in place, while others may allow you to speak privately with your supervisor. Experts suggest that employees approach this conversation tactfully. Time it so you don’t ask when things are hectic at work and prepare a good argument for why you need the advance and why it’s urgent.6
Washington State residents only: If you are a victim of a collection scam or if you suspect illegal or fraudulent activity involving a financial product or service, please contact the Department of Financial Institutions at 1-877-RING-DFI (746-4334), or online at www.dfi.wa.gov. You may also wish to contact the state of Washington Office of the Attorney General at www.atg.wa.gov.

It has become clear from numerous reports of this scam, that the scammers have come into posession of a large amount of personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, references, bank acct. numbers and social security numbers. Most of those reporting the scam indicate that at some time in the past, they filled out an online loan application. My guess is that these scammers have obtained (most likely illegally) a large database of this personal info.
If you feel you have been the victim of a loan scam please contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-FTC-HELP (382-4357) or online at www.ftc.gov; or contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (855) 411-CFPB (2372) or online at www.consumerfinance.gov. Because the scammers have access to bank account information and social security numbers, victims should consider themselves victims of identity theft and take appropriate precautions. The Federal Trade Commission has information for victims of identity theft available online at www.ftc.gov.
I was offer a loan in a text message and since my credit is bad. I call the number, I notice the heavy accent. But I continue talking. They knew so much about me (phone number, social security, bank routing and checking account). I continue talking. I wanted $2000 he said "No you can have $9000." I decline but he said my funds would be deposited a few hours later after they confirm my account. I immediately took the money out of my account. He calls me 1 hour later and demands my online banking user name!!! I told him I don't have one. So he demands my bank card number!!! I said "No way I would not give you that ever." So I wanted to see how far he would go and he say: "How can you be so stupid not to agree with us so you can get $5000 in your account?" So after that I say "Forget it" and I hanged up.

For instance, if a looming credit card or other loan payment is jeopardizing your ability to pay for basic expenses, see if you can work out a deal. “If you’re having trouble making your monthly payments, call your lender to ask for more time,” suggests Natasha Rachel Smith, consumer affairs expert at rebate website TopCashback. “You’d be surprised how willing they are to work with you on your payment schedule. … It pays to be transparent.”

For most people, a cash advance (also known as a payday advance) is something associated with a credit card or other line of credit. Many credit card companies make it easy for customers to receive cash advances nearby by using their credit card at a local ATM. The problem with such tactics is that the costs of the advance can add up quickly and you might not even realize what all those costs are. You'll likely pay an ATM fee charged by the bank that runs the machine, and you might also pay a fee to the credit card company for taking the advance, along with finance charges and interest if you don't pay the money back before your next billing cycle. Some credit card companies charge interest on cash advances that is higher than the interest charged on regular balances, which can make for surprising increases in your total balance.
